Connecting Hearts with the Light of Quran

Learn Prayer Method (Salah) Online — Step by Step for Kids and Adults

A Complete Salah Training Course with Correct Posture, Recitations, and Guidance

Salah is the second  pillar of Islam and the most important act of worship a Muslim performs every single day. Five times a day, every Muslim stands before Allah — and how that standing is performed matters. The posture, the recitations, the sequence, the transitions between positions, and the intention behind every movement all carry weight in the sight of Allah.Yet many Muslims, both young and old, have learned to pray by watching others rather than from a qualified teacher. Errors in posture are passed from generation to generation. Recitations are memorized without ever being corrected. Entire steps are performed slightly wrong because nobody ever explained the right way. This course is for everyone who wants to change that.At Online Quran Learners, our Prayer Method course provides comprehensive instruction on the proper way to perform Salah. Our expert instructors guide students through each step from the correct intention and Wudu, through every position of prayer, to the final Salaam. Every session is live, one to one, with practical demonstration and real-time correction so that students learn not just what to do, but exactly how to do it correctly.

Why Learning to Pray Correctly Matters?

The Prophet Muhammed, peace be upon him, said: ‘Pray as you have seen me pray.’ This hadith places Salah in a very specific context. It is not something to perform approximately or intuitively. It is an act of worship with a precise method, transmitted from the Prophet through generations of scholars, that every Muslim is expected to follow. Many Muslims feel a quiet anxiety about their Salah because they are not certain they are doing it right. They copy what they saw as a child, or what someone in the mosque does, without ever having been properly taught. That uncertainty affects the quality and peace of their prayer. Learning Salah step by step from a qualified teacher removes that uncertainty permanently. For children especially, learning the correct prayer method early is one of the most important gifts Islamic education can give. A child who learns to pray correctly at age seven will pray that way for the rest of their life.Errors learned in childhood are far harder to correct in adulthood than they are to prevent from the beginning.

The Complete Salah — Step by Step

Here is the complete method of Salah as taught in this course. Each step is explained clearly so students can follow and understand what they are doing and why.

01

Wudu — Ritual purification

Before Salah can begin, the Muslim must perform Wudu, the ritual washing of the hands, mouth, nose, face, arms, head, ears, and feet in a specific sequence. Salah is not valid without Wudu. The course covers the complete Wudu method with correct sequence and intention.

02

Niyyah — Intention

The Niyyah is the sincere intention in the heart before beginning prayer. It is not required to be spoken aloud, but the student must be clearly aware in their mind which prayer they are about to perform. The course explains how intention works and why it matters in Islam

03

Qibla — Facing the Kaaba

Salah must be performed facing the direction of the Kaaba in Makkah. The course teaches students how to find the Qibla from anywhere in the world and explains why this direction is significant.

04

Takbeer al-Iftitah — Opening declaration

Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest) Both hands are raised to the shoulders or ears while saying Allahu Akbar to begin the prayer. This Takbeer opens the Salah and signals the transition from everyday life into direct communication with Allah. The posture, hand position, and pronunciation are all
covered in the course.

05

Qiyam — Standing recitation

Surah Al-Fatiha followed by a short Surah In Qiyam the student recites Surah Al-Fatiha, which is obligatory in every raka, followed by a short Surah or verses from the Quran. The course covers the correct recitation of Al-Fatiha, the recommended short Surahs for daily prayer, and the posture of standing including where to place the hands.

06

Ruku — Bowing

Subhaana Rabbiyal Azeem Subhaana Rabbiyal Azeem (Glory be to my Lord, the Most Great) The student bows with the back straight and parallel to the ground, hands on the knees. The Tasbih of Ruku is recited three times or more. The course covers the exact posture of Ruku, the recitation, the minimum and recommended number of repetitions, and the Takbeer used to enter and exit this position.

07

I'tidal — Rising from Ruku

Sami Allaahu liman hamidah, Rabbana lakal hamd Sami Allaahu liman hamidah, Rabbana lakal hamd The student rises from Ruku saying ‘Allah hears whoever praises Him’ and then stands briefly saying ‘Our Lord, all praise is Yours.’ The transition posture and recitation are both covered in the course.

08

Sujood — Prostration

Subhaana Rabbiyal A’la Subhaana Rabbiyal A’la (Glory be to my Lord, the Most High) Sujood is the most intimate position in Salah — the forehead, nose, both palms, both knees, and the toes of both feet must all touch the ground simultaneously. The course covers the seven points of contact, the correct posture of the arms and feet, the recitation, and common errors to avoid.

09

Jalsah — Sitting between two Sujood

Rabbighfirlee Rabbighfirlee (O my Lord, forgive me) Between the two prostrations the student sits briefly in Jalsah, asking Allah for forgiveness. The correct sitting posture and the recitation are covered in the course.

10

Tashahhud — Sitting declaration

At-Tahiyyaatu lillaahi was-Salawaatu wat Tayyibaat… At-Tahiyyaatu lillaahi… The Tashahhud is recited in the sitting position after completing two rakas in a four-raka prayer, and again at the end of every prayer. It is an essential part of Salah and must be memorized correctly. The course covers the full Tashahhud, the Salat al-Ibrahimiyya that follows, and the posture including the raising of the index finger.

11

Salaam — Concluding the prayer

As-salaamu alaykum wa rahmatullaah As-salaamu alaykum wa rahmatullaah (Peace and mercy of Allah be upon you) The Salah is concluded by turning the head to the right and then to the left while saying the Salaam. The course covers the correct head movement, the recitation on each side, and what the Salaam signifies as the closing of the prayer.
